Rule of Law is the foundation of human rights and civil rights

Center for Rule of Law - Nepal (CROL) is dedicated to impart practical knowledge and better understanding of the Rule of Law through legal education, awareness, training, and research programs. Center also conduct programs on the rights, duties and responsibilities of citizen, public servant and other stake holders. The team of CROL aspires towards good governance through the Rule of Law. In order to promote and preserve the Rule of Law and Civil Rights, CROL is committed to reach the common people as well.

 

Over the past years CROL has conducted various programs in legal sectors within the country. Such programs were targeted towards law students, lawyers, judges, professionals’ and businessmen. Realizing the importance of legal knowledge for everyone, CROL further emphasize on creating a platform for the youths to harbor their talents and ideas by reaching out to the youth.

 

Therefor, Center for Rule of Law was established in 2017 in order to materialize the above mentioned objectives for the betterment of Nepalese society.

MISSION


Center is committed to protect and promote the Rule of Law and Civil Rights and maintain the Constitutional Supremacy. Center contributes its work towards protection and promotion of justice, good governance, environmental rights and human rights as well. The promoters of the Center is trying to create an avenue to share the legal experience based on litigation, trainings, court practices, teaching, and to further cater it to others.

OBJECTIVE


Our objective is to educate and carry out research on the importance of the Rule of Law. Along with this, Center conducts training programs among stake holders on how to uphold, promote and preserve the Rule of Law theory in performing their duties to the general public. We also carry research programs to advance the Rule of Law and implement and conduct training and education at law to elected office bearers and stake holders about the duty and responsibility.
 

Vision/Mission/Objective.

  • To ensure the access to justice under the principle of Rule of Law,
  • To publish law journal, incorporating legal issues in Nepalese society.
  • To address necessary PIL related issues that remain unaddressed.
  • To provide legal information’s to Nepalese community in Nepal and abroad.

Founding President, Center for Rule of Law

Dr.Ghimire, the founder of the Center has strong conviction that Rule of Law is the foundation of democracy and Civil Rights. Center has, therefore created to achieve the central governing objectives to bring a just and civilised society under the Rule of Law.

Dr. Ghimire is a Senior Advocate and practices at Supreme Court Nepal. He holds Doctor of Juridical Science (SJD) and LLM (Hon’s) from California USA. Former Member to the Commission for the diplomatic passport abuse investigating commission Nepal -2001 and Founding member and President of Centre for Rule of Law- Nepal.
